We stress tested material that is only 6 mm thick. See what happened.
Worktops come in different thicknesses – 30 mm, 20 mm, 12 mm and now 6 mm. A simple rule of thumb is that the thicker the material, the higher the price. When deciding on worktop thickness, you should always keep in mind how kitchen cabinets are constructed. If there is 20–30 cm of unsupported worktop at the corners, then we would not recommend using any material that is less than 20 mm thick:
We now produce fully supported 6 mm ceramic materials. These have a glued front edge so it looks like 30 mm but is much lighter both in terms of weight and cost!
But is it also as durable?
